Prayer request
A little update: My doctor told me to go to the urgent-care pretty close by, to get checked out and probably a breathing treatment. They said it was a 2 to 4 hour wait and a better time to come would be 6:30 am Saturday(today). So I told them I’d do that unless things got worse and in that case I’d show up on their doorstep whenever.
Long story short, I just got back from the urgent-care and the pharmacy. I have the early stages of walking pneumonia (diagnosed via x-ray). The doctor said we caught it just in time and put me on an antibiotic, cough syrup, and an inhaler. They also gave me a “breathing treatment” and so I feel a lot better!
Thank you all for your prayers! I thank God for His healing mercies and providing me with good care like this.
I know others are worse off, and I have been sicker than this in the past. But I thought I’d write and ask for prayers anyway.
Every year I in Jan-Feb I get hay fever that almost always goes “down” and becomes ashma-like, with difficulty breathing and wheezing. Often it becomes bronchitis, and a couple of times, it has gone into pneumonia.
Well, this year was no exception. Started with the hay fever, and started taking Zyrtec (nothing else works). And it went down, and so once in a while I’d use an inhaler, which helped. But you can’t use the inhaler too much or it will make your heart beat funny.
This week I have really had a struggle breathing. I was going to teach lessons in ASL but changed my mind and showed another film instead, so I didn’t have to talk as much. The other night around 2 am I woke up and very nearly went to the hospital….but decided to try and just find a position I could lie in and breathe better and sleep… I can’t really stay home from school because there’s nobody who could teach ASL. By the end of the day it’s hard for me to carry my backpack to the car… but yesterday & today I figured out how to park closer!
I emailed my doctor and she prescribed some medicine, and she couldn’t fit me in to see her yesterday, and today they closed at noon. I called her this afternoon and she recommended going to urgent care, They had a 2 to 4 hour wait so I decided to go early tomorrow (Saturday) morning when things are calm… I’d rather “wait 2 to 4 hours” here than there… if I need to I’ll show up on their doorstep in the middle of the night.
Would you guys pray for me? I just need to get better so I can do the homework for my college classes and do lesson planning for next week.
Thank you! I have been reading some of the posts but I’m a little behind..
Love and God’s blessings to all,
Gerrie

Yes, Gerrie I be praying for you. I don’t like this time of the year, I really cant wait till summer is here. I’m on my 3rd cold and coughing again.
Hope your feeling better today!
Will pray for you….my sister suffers from asthma something terrible and sometimes ends up in hospital.
Blessings to you.
I will be praying as well. One question though. In the dry winter months, do you use a humidifier? VERY essential for those of us who live in the Northern part of the country where the winter brings very dry air. Many years ago when our kids were little…toddlers…my youngin had very bad asthma. The doctor explained how essential a humidifier was and how very few people used one. Once we got one and began using it every winter, our problems were almost non-existant. If you do use a humidifier, add a capful of bleach and some hydrogen peroxide to the water to kill any bacteria that develops and change the filter every two months during it’s use. I can’t count the number of people we’ve shared this with who have been helped. Let me know if this helps you.
Father I pray for Gerrie right now….I ask for Your healing hand to be upon her and that this thing would not linger upon her. We proclaim that the blood of Jesus is against the sickness and thank you for victory over it. Touch Gerrie with your encouragement as well through all these things, she is deeply loved by her heavenly Father. Call her closer now in Jesus Name…amen!!
I will pray, too Gerrie. Having asthma, I understand how scary breathing problems can be.
Yes, Gerrie, I will certainly be praying for you. I went through that very thing about six years ago, and I know every wheeze and cough. Consider yourself wrapped in prayer.
How scary, my friend! I had asthma as a child, and remember WELL how scary it is not to be able to breathe easily. Dear Lord, please pour your healing out on our friend Gerrie. Ease her breathing. Clear up the infection. Calm her and give her your peace, as she waits for her lungs to clear and get well. Help her to rest, and to be able to prioritize wisely what she really HAS to do, and what can wait as she rests and heals. God bless you, Gerrie, in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
prayers. yes. And…it is but a season. Just get through this. God Bless!
Glad you got it checked out. And consider yourself prayed for.
@Lamentations3_21_24 - thank you! I’m getting lots better today and it’s a warm sunny day:)
