  • I guess it’s time to say SOMEthing!

Almost every day I read my subscriptions on Xanga.  But I don’t always have time (especially in the morning before school) to comment right away, and often wait till later.  And I don’t write a new post unless I think I have something to say.  But it’s been a while, so I thought I’d write a short one.

My birthday trip to Disneyland was FUN.  My son’s family and I had a very nice time, and they left at 7, but the friend that joined us took me home later so I could stay to see a nighttime little show called Fantasmic.

At my school we are in finals week.  Time flies!  Monday starts second semester, with a “clean slate” for the kids and me.

My college class is also in its last week, and I start a new class on Feb. 2nd.  I take as many classes online as I can, and so out of 4 that I need from Azusa Pacific University, 3 are online.  This week finishes the 2nd of the 4, and the next one is also online.  Hooray!  I love taking classes and learning, but it does add stress.

The “latest”, I suppose, is that I should be asking for prayer.  Every year in January and February I get allergies, sort of like hay fever.  But this one goes “down” into my lungs and turns into asthma.  Sometimes it gets to be bronchitis or less frequently, pneumonia.  I take Zyrtec for the allergy part (nothing else works), and I’ve had to use an inhaler when my breathing gets wheezy or difficult.  And I’d like to PREVENT getting bronchitis this time, if I can.

At least at school I have the option to sign instead of talking.  But I think going from classroom to classroom (I’m a floater without my own room) makes the breathing get hard especially by the time I’m going home.

Last year we had a mild winter, and for some reason I had only a little “hay fever” stuff that didn’t get to be asthma like this year.  Maybe another difference this year is that the stress from going to college and the new job is making this worse…  I don’t feel horribly “stressed out”, I just notice having more physical symptoms.

Part of me wants to just shake it off and ride it out till it goes away by itself without bothering anybody for prayer.  But sometimes once in a great while I want someone to pray with me and for God to make it all better NOW (or to be hugged).

So I’m asking for prayer, that this doesn’t get into bronchitis but that it could ease up till it goes away, at least?  Thank you all, I’ve loved reading your blogs and I do pray for my dear friends here.

Love to all and God bless,
    Gerrie

  • I’m still praying for you, Gerrie. I love you!!!!  ~Chris

  • Hi Gerrie,

You truly have a great, caring spirit. I think that Bible teaches us that we have not because we ask not so happy that you asked for prayer none of us want to see you have asthma either.

    Love ya, Darlena

  • yes, prayers.  You have the option to “sign”?  AmaZing!  how lovely!  Does everyone in your class sign?  i love it.    Adequate rest, and horizontal time may help….also steamy baths…but sure you know.  Lots of love.  It is a season.  hopefully, over soon.

  • I will pray, too, Gerrie. Hang in there. Wow — you are busy! Good luck with the courses, too!

  • I’ve added my prayers too, Gerrie.  I had that asthmatic-bronchitis (and then pneumonia) a few years ago, when winter would make it worse.  God healed me, and I have asked the same for you.  You don’t need that stuff, and He doesn’t want you to have it.

I’m so glad you enjoyed your birthday trip..I want to go to Disneyland for my birthday!  How was the Fantasmic show?

  • You are one very busy lady! (As always!) I am keeping you on that prayer list of mine. Love you bunches… and here is a {{{{{{{{[ B---I---G ------ H---U---G ]}}}}}}}}}}  coming YOUR way from me! Carolyn

  • Gerrie, I WILL pray that you won’t get bronchitis, and that you will be extra-healthy and full of energy this winter. God bless you, my friend.

  • Gerrie…..I pray that God will surround you with songs of deliverance today and that He would hold you close in His loving care.  I pray that He would bring encouragers across your path and that you would find fulfillment in doing His work where you are…..I pray that the eyes of your understanding would brighten and that you would more clearly discern His ways and will for your life….you are secure in Him and He is your sustaining strength…I pray for His healing presence to consume you and that your body would prosper, even as your soul is prospering…..you are dearly loved by God and your family in God!!!  love you!  Christy

  • I will pray that you stay healthy, and that you do not get bronchitis. I am glad you are able to take courses on line, I suppose that makes it easier than travelling to the school. Do you have to do it at a particular time or is it possible to do it anytime? It is good to hear from you. And I pray that you do not get too stressed.

  • RYC: I think we each need a secretary - Yep! (As long as the secretary doesn’t get too demanding!)
