  • New Grandson:):):)

A few blogs back I mentioned my oldest son’s wife expecting this month, and my youngest son’s family also expecting a little one next summer.

Well, I used to be able to say “each of my children has a child”, and that meant I had 3 grandchildren. I can’t say that any more!

Tonight, at around 7:20 pm California time, my grandson was born.  After a long night and day without much sleep, my daughter in law had her baby.  She was exhausted.  The baby is SO cute, and I even got to hold him!  Becky’s mother is visiting here from Cyprus, and she held him for a few minutes too.  Then of course, his daddy held him.

I’m tired too, went straight to the hospital after I left school, which was a 40 minute drive.  Then at 9:30 I drove Becky’s mother back to their apt., which is a 30 minute drive northwest.  Then I had to make a 40 minute drive home.

In the morning I have to go get Becky’s mother and bring her to the hospital (my son stayed overnight at the hospital with his new little family).  I have to do homework and correct papers this weekend too… wow, oh yes and then there’s some Christmas shopping I need to do.

This next week is the “last” week of school before Christmas vacation. Yay!

    Love to all this weekend,
    Gerrie

  • Hi Gerrie,

CONGRATULATIONS! Sounds like you had a lot of commuting to do. I think that Greg and I finished up our shopping today may pick up something here or there but if we don’t I think we will be ok. Just have to go shopping now for groceries and baking supplies.

    Love ya, Darlena

  • That’s the BEST Christmas present!  wow….lots of love!

  • Congrats on the little one! Sounds like a long day for you, but what a thrill to be able to hold your grand-baby. Hope the weekend gives you enough time to do schoolwork AND rest. I’m saying the same thing to my wife this weekend!

  • Congrats!!! that is wonderful new baby and everyone doing very well! Praise the Lord!! Yes, I hope you get a good night sleep! I have half of my shopping done so end of the week my husband and I will get our daughter’s gifts! Its been very windy and really cold here.

    Have a bless week!

  • Gerrie,

Thanks so very much for your heart filled comments…..No, I am not ashamed of my tears…I do know it is natural and God understands….I guess I didn’t elaborate well on one point….I have not ministered in song since my Dad passed….I had no desire to for a long time (usually I sing 1 or 2 times a month) but recently I have been thinking about it but as I hear certain songs I have cried alot, even as I have practiced….I sure don’t want to break down while singing a special!!  I don’t want this to sound vain or prideful, I just want the time to be right so that when I do a special, He is glorified, I don’t want to be what people see breaking down….does that make sense?

I appreciate your heart so much and you are loved too!

Blessings to you and can’t wait for Christmas break from bus driving!!

    Mike

  • Gerrie,

Thanks for your sweet comments today and for understanding….Mike

  • Just catching up on my Xanga friends, and am so overjoyed to hear about your new grandbaby…congratulations! What a joyful gift at Christmastime. Give him a kiss from your friend in Arkansas! God bless you, my friend. And y’all have a Merry Christmas!

  • How exciting!! Great Christmas present from the Lord. Thanks for wanting to stick around and subscribe to the new site. Take care and Merry Christmas ~` janet

  • 1. Congratulations on the grandbaby! How exciting! . . . and another on the way, too!! I about wore myself out just reading about your busy time of traveling. (One way to fix that is to have one’s car “go out’ on one…. we were car-less for a week, & then the dealer gave us a loaner for the last week. We got our own car back on Friday morning, though.
